Aug 7 2007 Paul (ferret) Atkins G'day Rod (I think), I'm Paul Atkins (Ferret), from 22 Course (1977-1980); my correct email is paul.d.atkins@baesystems.com (it's the middle initial that buggers everyone). Contact Nos are (08) 8480 7376 (W), 0416 259 584 (M). Currently (and since 1989), I work for BAE Systems, SA. Over at BAE we also have Martin Kurvitz (also 22 course) and a couple of other ex-Frognall guys floating around, so I'll try to get word to them about the web site (and Fred Eske already knows). Regards Paul
Shayne Flint I left RMIT with a DipEng (Electronics) in 1979 and worked in the maritime and air defence worlds before leaving the RAAF in 1985. After leaving the RAAF, I worked in the real-time embedded software systems space for C3 Pty Limited. In 1988, a mate and I formed Software Improvements, a small consulting firm working in the submarine world at HMAS Watson. In 1996 I sold the business and became a house-husband for a few years. In 1998 I joined the academic world at ANU. I completed a PhD, had a brief encounter with DSTO, and am now an academic in the ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science. I spend my time thinking about multi-disciplinary approaches to engineering (I even talk to artists, ecologists and psychologists!!). I also spend a lot of my time trying the get academics to do some real engineering and, when I have to, I teach into various software engineering programs. I am married to Sanae Miyazawa and we have two kids: Andy (12, computers, cricket, Python, Black Adder, Red Dwarf - stuff that mum just doesn't get at all!) and Sara (8, cello, piano, singing, ballet etc.). My present hobby is the renovation of an 1920's heritage house in Braddon, ACT.
